About The 2024 Research Capacity Building Webinar Series
The Center presents its 2024 monthly webinar series to advance interdisciplinary community-engaged research that will inform programs and policies to better serve African American children and families.
The webinars will build research capacity and recommend methods to conduct research relevant to the ACF program and policy goals and communicate community-engaged research approaches to a broad audience of students, community leaders, practitioners, researchers, and state and federal policymakers.
Ultimately, these webinars will inform approaches to improve the well-being of African American children and families.
This webinar will describe how to employ quantitative and computational methods (QCM) in context, history, and social relations when conducting community-engaged research. Specifically:
● Increase comprehension of QCM
● Describe QCM approaches and diverse perspectives
● Describe the use, misuse, and transformative potential of QCM for social safety net and early education programs
● Describe the potential of critical QCM in analyses of systemic racial marginalization
● Share implications for policies and practice
